April Ross

April Ross is only one of the few beach volleyball players who have earned medals at least twice in an Olympics. She will be competing in Tokyo for her 3rd Olympic gold medal along with Alix Klineman, a first-time Olympian. But more than that, Ross is aiming to capture her very first Olympic gold. Perhaps this is her only opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. But she's confident top awards can be achieved. If we play our top or perform well, I think we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross stated on NBC Boston. Additionally, I'm going be relying on a little bit of luck. Ross was born in California, Costa Mesa in 1982. Her parents and her sister resided in the area. The athletic pursuits she pursued continued at Newport Harbor High School where she participated in several different sports. She competed in basketball and track in addition to her indoor volleyball exploits as a pre-collegiate athlete. However, she was a standout at this level. In her own biography, during high school she played volleyball as an outside hitter (middle blocker) and the setter (outside blocker). Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the national Player of 1999. Additionally, in 2000, she was recognized as the Orange County Athlete of the Yr for volleyball. Ross and Klineman might have begun working together in the year 2017, however Ross was already an established volleyball player before they came together. She actually won several major championships while playing with two different partners, among them an icon of volleyball. Jennifer Kessy was her partner for six years, from 2007 until 2013. She also worked with Klineman as well as herself. Kessy and Ross were strong on the international arena, taking home the 2009 World Championship as a team. The duo took silver in London's Olympics. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) as well as Misty Maytreanor won gold, beating them to it. Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate as Maytreanor resigned. In 2016, the pair took bronze at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was a Trojans player for the USC during her college days, the years prior to her professional career. The time she spent in the Trojans' ranks was a memorable one. In 2000, as a freshman the Trojans' performance earned her the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Young Player of the Year awards. Also, she was one of the key players to help the Trojans to make it to their way to the Final Four. Her personal tragedy was a crushing loss in her sophomore year and yet she went on to repeat as an All-American. Over the course of her final two seasons she led the Trojans to the top of the mountain and clinched consecutive national championships. In 2003-04, Ross was named as the most successful female volleyball player at a collegiate level in America according to the Honda Sports Award. Ross, a USC international relations student was a renowned volleyball player. Margie Ross didn't get to witness Ross become the highest beach volleyball levels. Ross's mother passed away from cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross had just become a second-year student at USC. This meant that Ross remains close to her parent who died. Margie is a beach lover as well as in her everyday life, is still a source of inspiration for her.
