Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. Paquin was born in Winnipeg and raised by Wellington Paquin's father, was first seen on stage as Flora McGrath. For this role she received an Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress for the romantic drama The Piano at the young age of 11. The actress is second-youngest winner in Oscar history. The actress was chosen to play Flora McGrath the daughter of an blind Scottish pianist, who in the middle of 19th century, moves back to New Zealand for an arranged wedding after she accepted an audition open to all when she was just nine years old. She had little previous acting experience. When she was a teenager she emigrated from New Zealand to United States. Paquin played a minor role as the title character when she was a child on Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) and an important role in the film Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin appeared as Frankie Addams, a character from Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 in which she played the queen of Spain in a lesser character. She played teenagers as part of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and portrayed in the role of character of the polexia Aphrodisa groupie as part of Almost Famous (2000).
